Welcome to the Missouri CURE website. Here you will find helpful information as well as current and past newsletters, resources, upcoming events and legislative information.

Please visit our newest column, Prisoner Narratives, an in-depth look at abuses suffered by Missouri prisoners in segregation/solitary confinement. These include individual stories of prisoners who live for weeks, months, years, and some even decades in tiny cells for 23 hours a day, often under horrific conditions.

Feel free to browse around. If you see anything you would like information on, please let us know. At the bottom left corner of this page is a contact form; please fill it out and let us know how we can improve this website, or any other concern you may have. If you would like to help volunteer, please let us know here as well.

Who We Are

Missouri CURE began in 1990 as a state chapter of National CURE.

Who Can Join? CURE members include prisoners, their families and loved ones, and other concerned members of the community.

What are the goals of CURE? To ensure that prisons are only used for those who absolutely must be incarcerated and that they are used only for the purposes of rehabilitation and education.

You Inspire Me

I don't need to mention names
You know who you are
On top one minute, doing what you do so well
Then knocked down and shut away
Unseen but not forgotten
Still fighting with dignity day after day
Not even bemoaning your fate
Taking whatever opportunity life affords
To continue the struggle
Still planning creative strategies to make change happen
Undeterred by the oppression of centuries
The lowest of the low in some eyes
The highest of the high in mine.
