Proposal for Bill to End Racist Violence in Lockdown Units
My fellow prisoners and I have initiated a national peace campaign and are urging lawmakers to address a serious issue and pass a bill that seeks to end violence targeting African American offenders in administrative segregation/confinement units by racist prison guards dressed in riot clothes and using mace and electric guns, etc.
We are launching this initiative as of Jan 1, 2012 to raise awareness of the prevalence of these racist crimes of targeted violence. This bill is urgently needed to put an end to hate campaigns in solitary confinement and administrative segregation units, while restoring confidence in rehabilitation.
The proposed bill should basically aim to provide justice for offenders who are victims of prison guards’ assaults, target racist speech toward offenders, censor more closely violent behavior captured in videos by the prison, and hold prison guards, officials and individuals accountable for not stopping or for abetting the violence.
